Hello David, some tricky clues last week! I have to ask about MENDED – I see that “repaired” is the definition but how do you get M + ENDED from the cryptic part?
Graham
Augusta WA
Hello Graham : I’m guessing that if the word MOVER is ‘broken’ into 2 parts i.e. M plus synonym for OVER which is ENDED, result could be MENDED.
Yes, Charmaine has it right. There’s only one way “mover” can be broken so that it makes sense from a solving perspective, but, as the wordplay is not standard, a ? has been added to indicate word abuse.
