Hi David
I’d like to let you know that your Crosswords page in the last AFR was very much appreciated as a welcome, pleasurable, gratifying and mentally ‘satisfying’ contribution to my Christmas activities. It was a delight. Thank you very much.
Compliments of the Season and all the very best to you and your family for the New Year.
Charmaine
Is “OLD STYLE” really an anagram of “SET ODDLY”? D -> L? D’oh!
Ahh, yes, you are right Rob. Looking back, I wanted an easy anagram for an unusual term and misread “set oldly” for “set oddly”. “oldly” doesn’t look right so my brain did an auto-correct. Should’ve gone to SpecSavers! I’ve been working on another clue. How about:
Type to sell dye mostly abroad (3,5)
Thanks
Stickler
Not sure that ‘Type” is a definition for OLD STYLE (but it might be?), but at least the anagram is sound.
