Stickler 129
Hi David
Stuck with 19D
Have: S?E?A?G

Norman
Hi Norman,
You have the right letters. The answer is most commonly used in a phrase meaning “the lot” or “everything”.
David
Thanks David. Though I managed to get the solution via your prompting, and trying a few permutations, I had to conclude that the definition is business, which does not seem to be correct.

Norman
Here’s what Macquarie says:
shebang
/shuh’bang/.
noun Colloquial
1. a thing; affair; business.
2. a disturbance; brawl.
I think “business” is more an event than a commercial operation as in “mind your own business” and “I’m tired of the whole business” etc
Hope that helps
David
Thanks David. Great help.
After a late start to solving the crossword this week, I have just filled in the last square. A really enjoyable puzzle. Lots of great clues – 11a, 9d and 16d to name just three.
