The Stickler Weekly Insights 232

A number of comments on this blog over the last few months have led me to question the effort I put into creating an Insight post every week. I’ve checked the stats since I split the Insight from the Solution and less than half of those who solve the crossword take the time to read it. So, people don’t read it and those that do don’t always seem to understand it.
I’ve decided, therefore, to stop the weekly Insight posts. I will, however, post the occasional Insight when I’m moved to do so.

The Stickler Weekly will continue for the time being.

Sorry that it has to go David. I always found something “Insightful”
Will look forward to your occasional random Production.

I also will miss this part of the program. But statistics are a good guide to the value people place on your effort.
I just hope there is enough reward for the effort you put into the crosswords.
Frankly I consider Stickler puzzles my only source of reliable and relevant crosswords.
In the past couple of weeks I have dipped into the Guardian, but found myself on the outer because of a lack of knowledge about English literature, history and geography.

  3. Patrick Lewis says:

Oh, that’s a pity, but understandable. Hopefully you will still be able to give some ‘insight’ now and then, and feedback too, if any, on debatable issues raised in the blog, with the solution as before.

  4. Greg Mansell says:

I always enjoyed the Insights, but only commented when I could think of something interesting to add.
Perhaps I should have registered my interest and understanding more often.
Thanks for the last few years of Insights, David. I, for one, really appreciated it.
